Locutionary,Illocutionary and Perlocutionary are types of the Speech act.
1)Locutionary ACT-: It is the basic act of utterance or producing meaningful expression,when people produce the utterance, that is called Locutionary act. eg. Someone said, "It is rain outside."
It is the utterance itself, is called Locutionary act. It is the literal meaning of the utterance. It is also called speaker's utterance which is carried by the words in the utterance. If we failed to create sound and words,we fail to produce Locutionary act.
2) Illocutionary act-: It is the communicative force of an utterance.This act produce an utterance with some kind of function in mind. It is for only communicative purpose. It includes Stating,Promising,Predicting,Ordering and Requesting. eg. "It is rain outside." It means the speaker wants the listener use umbrella if he or she wants to go outside or stay in the room til the rain stop.
It is the force of an utterance.
3) Perlocutionary act-: It is the last type of Speech act. It means the effect of speaker's utterance on the listener what the speaker says in particular situation.
This act is the reaction of listeners towards speaker's utterance. eg."It is rain outside." The Perlocutionary effect from such utterance is use umbrella when go outside.
